Criminal Record Certificate
Anyone over 16 years of age can request an Argentine criminal record certificate, issued by the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia (RNR) of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
The request for this certificate can be made in two ways:
IN PERSON
Requirements
. Be over 16 years of age
. Have a valid identity document: DNI card if the applicant is Argentine; valid passport if he or she is a foreigner
. Have a Visa, MasterCard or American Express debit or credit card
Fee
ARS 8500 + EUR 30.
The first is paid online following the instructions in point 1 of the procedure below.
The second is paid in EUR with a card (debit or credit) at the Embassy on the day of the procedure.
Procedure
1° | Enter the following link of the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia and select "Ireland" in the drop-down list of countries. Then press the blue button "Choose and continue". Read the detailed information carefully and press next. Complete the fields exactly as they are required.
When you reach the "Generar solicitud" field, press "Descargar solicitud" and save the document. Then press next and then "Terminar" to finalize your application. This will open the interface for you to make the online payment of AR$ 8500 by card. Once the payment has been made, do not forget to download the payment receipt offered by the system (your browser may open it in a pop-up window).
Payment options
1) By credit card
2) By electronic payment slip (VEP) AFIP
3) Through the PAGAR payment platform (Red Link)
4) Through the homebanking platform of the Banelco Network
All these modalities allow the RNR rate to also be paid by third parties other than the person requesting the criminal record certificate.
IMPORTANT: It is essential that you keep both .pdf documents, "Solicitud" and "Comprobante de pago". You should also receive them in the email account that you provided when you started the application.
2° | Request an appointment by email to secon_eirla@mrecic.gov.ar You must attach and send us the documents "Application" and "Payment Receipt" and inform us of your preference of days for the appointment.
3° | Wait for the appointment assignment. The procedure is carried out in the Embassy offices and appointments are assigned for times between 09:00 and 14:00 from Monday to Friday, except holidays.
- Show up for your appointment with your valid ID and credit or debit card.
- Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by one or both parents, who must also present their ID documents and the minor's birth certificate.
- Upon arrival at the Embassy, you will pay the EUR 30 fee specified above by card and complete your application for a criminal record certificate with the assistance of the staff.
The criminal record certificate is normally available for online download within 24 hours from the time of completion of the application.
Please note that if the organization / company to which you will present the certificate requires that the document be apostilled, you must process this procedure once the PDF arrives in your email.

REMOTE
The “remote” processing allows you to request and download the criminal record certificate without leaving your home.
Requirements
. Be over 18 years old
. Have a valid identity document: DNI card or valid passport if the applicant is Argentine; valid passport if he is a foreigner
. Have a Level 2 AFIP Tax Code / or Have a debit card belonging to the Banelco Network, issued by Argentina.
Procedure
1° | Go to www.dnrec.jus.gov.ar and select “Saca el certificado de antecedentes penales”.
2° | Follow the instructions on the RNR website.
The fee amount will depend on the type of procedure you select.
Once you have paid the application, you will receive an email informing you of the day and time when the certificate will be available and the application and security code you must use to download it.
To download it, you must go to www.dnrec.jus.gov.ar again and select “Descarga tu certificado”.
