RCAIr - Argentine Scientists and Academics Network in Ireland

On 23 June 2025, the Network of Argentine Scientists and Academics in Ireland (RCAIr) was formally constituted in Dublin, under the RAICES Programme established by Law 26.421. The RCAIr is a non-profit association with no legal personality, made up of Argentine researchers, scientists, technicians, academics and professionals whose activities in Ireland are related to scientific, technical or academic research.

The RCAIr is a non-partisan association that seeks to promote ties between Argentina and Ireland in the area of scientific and technological research. The network has a Scientific Coordination, a Technical Coordination and a Scientific Advisory Committee organised by areas of knowledge. Its members meet at least once a year in assembly, in person or virtually.

Objectives

  • To foster and strengthen ties between the Argentine scientific community and Argentine researchers resident in Ireland.
  • To serve as an advisory body for participation in international cooperation projects related to Ireland.
  • To advise on and develop proposals for scientific and technological cooperation with Irish and Argentine institutions, both public and private.
  • To inform and disseminate projects, programmes and opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation for Argentine researchers in Ireland.
  • To collaborate and advise in the creation and development of new Networks of Argentine Scientists Abroad.
  • To promote the integration and participation of Argentine scientists in the Irish scientific and technological community, facilitating the inclusion of those arriving in the country.
  • To promote the exchange of knowledge, experiences and opportunities with the Irish scientific community, and to foster ties with other European networks.

How to join the RCAIr

Argentine nationals with relevant scientific or academic ties to Argentina who have been resident in Ireland for at least six months and work as researchers, scientists, academics, professionals or technologists in relation to science, technology or academia may join the RCAIr as full members. Exceptionally, other individuals with relevant scientific or academic ties to Argentina may be admitted as associate members.
